One of the Conservancy's flagship conservation science initiatives and its largest enhancement area to date, the Chanac Creek Enhancement Area constitutes almost 2,000 acres and 3 linear miles of riparian habitat. Under the Conservancy’s stewardship, the research, monitoring and adaptive management of the CCEA has greatly increased understanding of how cattle can be more effectively managed to promote the long-term ecosystem health of not only Chanac Creek, but riparian habitats throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
