Pescado serves as a natural base of operations for visiting researchers, bird-watchers, student groups, members, donors, volunteers and other Conservancy guests accessing the Antelope Valley portion of conserved lands. It is at the base of Pescado Canyon at approximately 4,200 feet in elevation and is characterized by a mix of valley grasslands, chaparral and oak woodland communities.
