Sierra Nevada Bioregion

One of four bioregions that converge on Tejon Ranch, the Sierra Nevada Bioregion represents much of the northeastern and interior mountainous portions of Tejon. Landscapes within this region range from mountain forests and mixed hardwood conifer woodlands, to alpine meadows, chaparral-covered foothills and valley grasslands. Expanding ecological research throughout this region remains a high priority, as the potential for catastrophic wildfire and other climate change-related disturbances threaten the rich biodiversity and abundant natural resources that occur here.
