PUBLIC ACCESS AND EVENTS

For the first time in history, the gates of Tejon Ranch are opened to the public to view, enjoy and be awed by the grandeur of this working landscape.

The Tejon Ranch Conservancy believes people should be free to enjoy the land and its beauty, so it places a high value on visitation. The Public Access Program emphasizes opportunities to discover the natural, scenic outdoor recreation resources of the Ranch, while continuing to protect significant resources through conservation easements.

The program is designed to foster an ethic of stewardship of natural resources by providing more ways for people to interact with nature and be outdoors with an emphasis on quality experiences.

The Conservancy offers guided hikes, wildflower viewing, bird-watching, tours and other opportunities

for the public to experience and explore this historical and ecological gem.

To further enhance access, long-term plans include the re-routing of 38 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail onto Tejon Ranch. While much work remains before the trail can be moved, the new alignment will eventually offer Pacific Crest Trail hikers ridgetop views of the Ranch’s four ecosystems, as well as the larger region.

Expanding and enhancing public access will require additional financial support. Join us and support augmented educational, adventure and outreach opportunities in one of California’s last great places.

Be part of something big! With 240,000 acres under its care, the Tejon Ranch Conservancy helps oversee management of one of the largest, and perhaps most historic, working cattle ranches in California. But we are more than just acres: we are research, education and exploration – we are science and stewardship – and we are discovery.
